Lykke Li - Get Some

dear victoria:

I would love for you to get some more snow, please

dear vancouver, the jig is up

I’ve lived in Vancouver for 17 of my 23 years, and I’ve been here for at least part of every winter. So believe me when I tell you the Vancouver Winter Naivety Complex is bullshit.

It snows at least once a year. That’s not a lot, granted, but it’s a pattern. It’s not like every time you can be surprised for real. And yet every year people panic. SNOW TIRES. SNOW PLOWS. ROAD CLOSURES. HOW WILL I GET TO WORK STOCK UP ON CANNED GOODS I DON’T EVEN HAVE A WINTER COAT etc etc. Listen guys, I know it’s fun to be like, “Can you BELIEVE it’s SNOWING?” but we know it snows. We know. So let’s all just get on board with winter and stop acting like we’ve never seen a snowflake before, because after a while it’s a tired routine.

chloe

I think she is really uniquely beautiful, in an unconventional way. I also love her style, and the way that she dresses (or undresses). Finally, I envy her hair length, because this is how long I want my hair to be:

ballet

Yesterday I went and saw the Goh Ballet's version of The Nutcracker at the Royal Theater here in Victoria; it was absolutely amazing. I think it has renewed my interest in pursuing adult dance classes. I really wish I had stayed in ballet as a child.

GPOY: CM

From the last couple of days:

Above I am wearing the Amy tank in black, with the Daniella skirt in Pewter. This skirt was very popular today. Walking through the mall I had men stopping me to tell me how unique it was, and little women feeling me up to see what the fabric was like. Successful day I'd say!

Here I am wearing the Suzi pleated pant with my Lola top in black...yesterday one of my customers told me I looked very Gossip Girl...and then proceeded to talk about edible undies with his co-worker. They were pretty hilarious. Another good day!
