24 Hour Relay for the Kids

So this weekend I'm running in the 24 hour relay for the kids here in Victoria, BC with my group, the Team Carebearz!

I'm pretty stoked to meet a bunch of people that are working towards the same great cause of sending kids with disabilities to camp for a week where they can just relax and have fun with new and old friends. Many campers look forward to going to camp all year long - it's an amazing place where they focus on each camper's abilities rather than their disabilities; where independence, self-esteem, and self-confidence are encouraged and supported by camp staff throughout the week. To send one child to camp for one week costs almost $2200.

With the support of our friends, family and community members my team is working towards reaching our goal of raising $20, 000. Right now we're at $19, 600.00, and if any of you that have come across this post are interested in the cause I would be more than grateful if you too would contribute in any way that you can!

To donate:
- Select my team name, "Team Carebearz" from the drop down list
- Select my name (Robyn Scott) from the drop down list
- Follow the links to enter your donor information and donation amount, and you're done!
- All online donations will automatically receive an electronic tax receipt. It's fast, easy, and you'll be helping to send over hundreds of BC's children with disabilities to camp this summer
- Even if it's only $1 I will super appreciate it....

Thanks everyone!

Loafers

Last week I purchased these lovely loafers from the Aldo website:

And of course, because my feet range in size from 8.5 to 9.5 Aldo's size 40 turned out to be too tiny. This frustrates me because apparently that is the equivalent of a size 10 in their world, and they would be happy to special order me an 11. I do not want an 11, I am not a size 11. Nor will it fit me. I mean, any flats I have tried on at any of the stores are always too small, and yet the same size in a heel is too big. WTF.

For the past week I have been on the search for a nice pair of loafers...and am nervous to buy online because what if the next pair of shoes I order do not fit...again?

What I really want is a nice pair of Bass shoes...either of the Wayfarer or Brookfield styles would be lovely. The Brookfields at least resemble the style that I would most like.

So...Does anyone know where I can purchase Bass shoes here in Victoria...or a good place to do so online?

Silo Home

My co-worker sent along these pictures via email, and I'm still left thinking that it would be super cool to turn some old unused silos into a new 1 bedroom little home:

I would totally live in this place!! Right now it's located on the grounds of Gruene Homestead Inn in New Braunfels, Texas.

Kinda reminds me of Das Park Hotels that I wrote about last December.

Kodak Instamatic 233

The other week I bought a Kodak Instamatic 233 camera made in England circa 1960. Shortly after purchasing it and talking to my friend Astrid who is a fabulous photographer and works at London Drugs I began my hunt for 126 film.

The film finally arrived...and I spent about $60 on having 3 rolls shipped to me, plus they expired in 2009, but honestly, I think that they will be fine and will probably mean more unique photos.

Anyway, I cannot wait!! Here is what the camera looks like...it even has a fancy case so I'll update my own photos of it later:

Now I just need to make sure I can find a place that will develop it. That is the only problem I foresee right now. Hopefully my photos will turn out lovely comme ca:
